Losing Your Luggage
It is relatively easy to have your luggage disappear in Costa Rica. The best
advice is to avoid leaving your luggage unattended at all costs. Though Costa
Rica prides itself on being a law-abiding, peaceful nation, theives are very
much a reality, especially in urban areas. As a result, you take a risk 
when leaving your belongings in parked cars, on buses, and anywhere in a hotel
besides your room. It is best to pack light so you can easily manage your
items. As a general rule and universal standard of distrust, never leave your
luggage in a car unattended.
