Golf is still very much an upscale sport in Costa Rica, so most of those who play the game are wealthy Ticos, politicians, foreign businesspersons, and tourists from Europe and the US. The sport's popularity is catching on a bit slower than the pace of golf course construction, so visitors will be happy to experience uncrowded game play, and most of the time, a tee-time is not necessary.
