Wind Surfing
Nestled at the base of the frequently active Arenal Volcano, Lake Arenal is considered by many world-class windsurfers as one of the top five best windsurfing locations in the world. Caribbean trade winds during the dry season can get air over the lake soaring at up to 50 mph. Coter Lake and the Pacific Ocean off of Bahía Salinas and Puerto Soley can certainly offer more world-class windsurfing, while the tame Culebra Bay is perfect for beginners to the sport.
