Car Insurance and Accidents
Liability coverage is included with almost all rental cars. Full coverage and nondeductible insurance is available for a per diem surcharge depending on the type of car. Most policies have a hefty US$750 deductible, which can be waived for an additional US$10. If an accident should happen and your rental vehicle needs repairs, make sure you contact the main rental office and clear it with them. Otherwise, you may not be reimbursed.
Be aware that the insurance that covers the vehicle does not cover your personal property. Rental plates attract thieves, so avoid leaving personal valuables in the vehicle, even in guarded parking lots.
